Greetings, It's "fruitcake weather!" The trees are bare and there are heavy morning frosts. We made it unscathed through the first week of this transition from Thanksgiving into Christmas. We didn't venture out to any stores on Black Friday and we stayed off the internet the following Monday and we stayed so busy last week that we didn't watch much TV, so we don't yet feel pummeled and battered by the commercial end of the Christmas season. We went to see two great music shows last week, The Skaggs Family Christmas Show at the beautiful Paramount Theater in Charlottesville, VA and Darrell Scott at The Mockingbird in Staunton, VA. Both shows were inspiring and made us glad we still like to go see live music. And they were both on weeknights, so we stayed around the home place on the weekend. At one point in time if we weren't working on a Friday on Saturday night we'd wonder what's wrong. After all those are the nights above all others that musicians should be working. But that was "down the road of used to be" and now it doesn't bother us at all. Our friend and web mistress, Patti Simmons, has been working overtime recently for us and has started a FaceBook page for Robin and Linda Williams and Their Fine Group. Everyone likes to be "liked" so, when you get a chance, please check it out (https://www.facebook.com/finegroup). We'll be spending some time on it this week before we head out from home. Bumper Sticker Of The Month: Why is 'abbreviation' such a long word?" The shows coming up the next couple of weeks are always a high Iight of our year. We're working a lot on our Christmas material as it's been a while since we've been close to these songs, so it's a good feeling to get back to them and realize how strong they are and how much fun they are to sing and play. We're adding some new tunes to the show just to keep us on the edge, but it's hard to leave out any of the old songs, so it leads to hard choices. Since we'll not be writing your another email before Christmas we'd like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. We're going to work hard to keep the true meaning of the season in our hearts and to let our friends and loved ones know how important they all are to us. That being said, if you know of any music lovers you'd like to send a gift to, you can go to our web site www.robinandlinda.com and peruse our store there. We have more of our CDs than you do and we wouldn't mind if you guys would help us remedy that. Keep in mind that Robin and Linda Williams and Their Fine Group will be cruising in July to Alaska. Lynette at Traveling Troubadour says there are still some cabins left. Come join us on our musical voyage as we see some beautiful scenery, relax on a Holland American Line's ms Statendam, get to know one another and have a heck of a good time. We're looking forward to it and we hope you'll give it some thought. And we hope this finds you well. Go out and see some live music soon and we'll look forward to seeing you at one of our stops along the way. Bring a friend!
