Robin and Linda Williams: Suitcases and Holidays 2023Dear Friends,It's been two weeks since we've seen our suitcases, and truth be told, we don't miss them or mind that they'll stay there in the attic for another three weeks. They've recently earned their keep as we've spent more time on the road than at home. They got bumped and dropped, hurled, and banged, by us and by luggage handlers, in and out of vehicles and 24 or 25 motel rooms and on and off ten or twelve airliners. So, here's to 'em. They've earned their rest. But our travels and shows were Fall-fulfilling (huh?) and, during this past Thanksgiving holiday it was not lost on us how fortunate we have been to be able to play music for fifty years in front of the best audiences in the history of the music business. Of special note was our almost two-week stint in Fayetteville, AR where we rekindled a musical we worked on with Mary Sue Price many years ago, "Streets of Gold." We enjoyed being around playwrights and actors, all amazingly talented people, and getting a taste, once again, of what it's like to work in theater. An added plus was rubbing shoulders with everyone we met in Fayetteville. We left having recorded four or five songs from the show and, as well, we videoed a reading of the play with a full cast in front of a live audience. The plan is to use these tools to help raise money for a production. We're hopeful that good things are going to result from all this. Bumper Sticker of the Month: Santa Claus is right, visit people only once a year. We're now getting ready for the Holiday season with a hometown Christmas concert on the 15th and to three Hank Williams Tribute shows the last week of this month. These shows are always special and they're fun without fail. So, if you're into mirth and merriment and you're close, come on out and see us. Besides, live music makes you smarter.
Your pals,
