Robin and Linda Williams:
Gigs, Recordings & Solar Panels

Dear Friends,

There's been a lot going on at home lately but now it's time to get back in "the road mode" as we have some gigs coming up and we'll soon be in front of some of the best audiences in the history of the music business. That's you.

The extra special thing about these May gigs, the icing on the cake, as it were, is that we'll be returning - yes, returning - to venues we've played before. One of our slogans has always been "we're only as good as our last gig, and we never quit looking for the next one." We love to be returning. It's a sign that we've done something right.

On the Music Scene at Home front, our buddy, Kevin McNoldy, showed up recently and spent a few days with us recording some new songs. He brought his gear, and we recorded in our living room, ending up with four songs in various states of disrepair. It was fun to be working with Kevin again and we liked listening to what we were coming up with. He'll come back after we get home from these gigs, and we'll record some more. We hope to have some things for you to listen to before too long.

Our house is a great recording studio. It's old and solid, it has a well-stocked refrigerator and several bedrooms and, even though we live just two blocks from the local fire station and First Responders unit, we were never disturbed by outside noise. Not even the construction zone a few houses up or the whoops and yells from the eclipse crowd in the park across the street bothered us. Speaking of which, between breaks, we watched the eclipse from our front porch and, truthfully, weren't prepared to be as astonished by it as we were. What an experience!

It's good Kevin wasn't around this week as, in preparation for having some solar panels installed, the roofers showed up and began replacing the 100-year-old roof on the house. There's been a lot of banging going on this week as huge strips of metal have been pulled up, then hammered and folded into bundles and tossed off the roof into the back yard, not to mention the generator noise or the nail guns which are constant. No, this week was not the week to be recording.

Bumper Sticker of the Month: A bumble bee is a lot faster than a John Deere tractor.

Ê That's all, folks. Hope this finds you healthy and free of unwanted drama. Go out and see some live music. We hear it makes you smarter. We hope to see you at one of the stops along the way.

Your pals,
Robin and Linda
