November News/ Robin and Linda write: Dear Friends, It's a sunny day in the Shenandoah Valley and, after a good three days of rain last week, folks around here are in good moods. Us? We're in good moods as well. And we're busy. Lately we've had just enough time at home between trips to get our clothes washed, the oil changed in our vehicle and the strings changed on our instruments. It's a little crazy but, as we like to say, we don't suffer from insanity, we enjoy every minute of it. On Tuesday, November 6th, our next CD, "Radio Songs," will be released on the Red House label. It's a compilation of songs we have recorded on the wonderful radio show, "A Prairie Home Companion." A lot of people have worked hard on this project and we'll send our thanks to all the folks at Red House Records, American Public Media and Prairie Home Productions; to the crew of "A Prairie Home Companion" and to all the musicians who granted their permission for use on this project. And a huge thank you goes out to Garrison Keillor who gave his blessing to this CD and, without whose help, this wouldn't have been possible. Needless to say, we're excited to have this project out for you all to listen to. You'll be able to buy "Radio Songs" from all reputable CD stores, from Amazon.com and from our web site, www.robinandlinda.com. And, of course, they'll be available at The Fine Group Boutique at all of our shows. This weekend we join up with Jim Watson and Jimmy Gaudreau for more fun and games. Dear Friends, Our new CD is released! "Radio Songs." It's a compilation of songs we've performed on "A Prairie Home Companion" which gives the listener an overview of the work we've done on the show over the years. We'll have more information about "Radio Songs" soon. We are also involved with a CD entitled, "Music Of Coal: Mining Songs from the Appalachian Coalfields", produced by The Lonesome Pine Office On Youth in Big Stone Gap, VA. It's a really interesting project that has been two years in the making. It has two CDs and a extraordinary package. The music is totally captivating and we have been listening to it nonstop. There are some historic recordings from the '30s, '40s, '50s and '60s as well as some new productions recorded specifically for the project. We recorded Jean Ritchie's incredible song, "Blue Diamond Mines." There was a nice piece on the project done by National Public Radio's "All Things Considered" a couple of weeks ago.
