Robin and Linda Williams: Making Lists

Dear Friends,
Today weÕre making lists. WeÕre slightly out of practice when it comes to leaving for ÒlongÓ trips, i.e. outings of over a thousand miles and more than two nights. But as we look at our October schedule, weÕre realizing it is time to sharpen up our traveling skills. In the old days we had a band vehicle and, when we parked it after a trip, we could leave most of our gear, merchandise and paraphernalia locked up safely on an Augusta County, Virginia back road. Now weÕre city folks and have to unload and re-load everything after and before each trip, and weÕve found out the hard way how easy it is to misplace stuff and forget it on the next outing - microphones, the laptop or its power supply, USB cords, DIs, guitar picks and cables, tuners, cell phone power packs - just to name a few things weÕve left home recently. One time we even left our dog.

September was busy. We recorded some more and now have 13 songs Òtracked.Ó We found a highly reputable record company that is interested in working with us and are pleased about that. Once the recording is done, weÕll be happy to turn the project over to experienced pros who can handle the manufacturing and promotional aspects of a record release. The long term plan is to have it released in late Spring, 2020. WeÕll keep you posted.

We also did a few shows here in Virginia which were fun and then, on more or less the spur of the moment, joined Garrison Keillor and sang with him at one of his shows. ItÕs the first time weÕd sung with him in over three years and it was encouraging to know we could still get up there with him and pull it off. As always, it was good just to hear him talk, his stories and humor are like no other performerÕs.

Got to go. We need to go back to our lists and starts getting ready for this weekendÕs journey. Hopefully weÕll see you soon at one of our stops along the way. But if weÕre not coming close, go out and see some live music anyway.
