Here Robin and Linda have placed a group of mostly original songs in a slightly more contemporary setting. On this project they worked with John Jennings, long time guitar player/producer for Mary Chapin Carpenter, and several other members of their band. The result has received nothing but critical acclaim. The legendary bluegrass band The Seldom Scene immediately selected "The Other Sede of Town" for their next recording. As one reviewer put it.... "John Jennings let Robin and Linda do what they do best, which is sing. And they have never sounded better." This album marked 20 years togeter! What a celebration!

The release of this album coincides with our twentieth year together. We have spent most of these past twenty years on the road and have driven almost a million miles in the lower 48 and Europe. To try and count the number of jobs we've played would be unreal. It's not what most people would call a normal life. We think of anyone who spends the majority of their nights in their own bed as having a normal life. But all in all, it has been a long and wondefful ride.

As strange as our life sometimes seems to us, we have still been lucky enough to establish friendships with some wondefful people; people who do us favors constantly and without whom we could not possibly do what we do. They water our plants when we are gone for long periods of time. They send us our mail on the road. They take care of our animals. They work us into their busy schedules when emergencies arise that need attending to and we're only in town for 24 hours. And they always welcome us with open arms and loving hearts.

And then there are those who have inspired us through their music and their wntings; whose work has formed the bedrock upon which we have built our music. Some of these people we have worked with; some we have admired from afar. Without them we wouldn't be who we are today.
